» Mandalas «

In the beginning (1999), I created mandalas based on patterns and symmetry. During the fall of 2007, I ventured into new territory and created mandalas that were free form and asymmetrical. All of my mandalas are displayed two categories: Symmetry Mandalas and Asymmetry Mandalas. To me, both styles are equally powerful, equally uplifting.

Most of the symmetry mandalas are symmetrical patterns of twelve; in the last two years I've played with mandalas in odd numbers while still maintaining symmetry. I spent the next two hours coloring in all the different sections that were created from the lines crossing over each other. The whole process was very free form and spontaneious, without rhyme or reason; something new for me. When I finished the piece, I liked what I saw and I had fun doing it. For the next two weeks, I proceeded to do one-a-day. view them all...
